Volvo Repair: Lean & running hot 240, smog pumps, voltage stabilzer

Question
I am told that am running too lean (1982 244 dl MPG, CA.model). Recently had cat substrate removed to eliminate rattling sound, w/ less power the result. Any connection?Plus ,every time i make a sharp turn ,my temp guage starts to advance to the red (10:30)even on a freezing day.p.s. the radiator, block water temp sender, therm, main engine harness & coolant were changed recently but problem persists.thanks for your input.

Answer
Pat, those CA cars were a pain back in the 80's.  Not sure what still is working on your car but the smog pumps and the air/fuel mixtures were tricky.  Not sure what to think about your gauge.  Possible voltage stabilzer on the back of the instrument cluster.  Roger
