Volvo Repair: 1988 VOVLO 740 WONT START, mechanical malfunction, timing belt

MY 1988 VOVLO 740 NO TURBO WON'T START. THERE IS GAS IN IT AND IT TURNS OVER BUT IT WON'T START.  WHAT DOES THIS MEAN. PLEASE HELP. THANKS

   Tara, you need to do some testing or any answer I give is just a guess. First you need to see if you are losing fuel or spark when it will not start. If you have both those, then you have to check for a mechanical malfunction. IE: timing belt broken, bad compression etc. That will help direct your diagnosis.
