Volvo Repair: car died on freeway Volvo 760 turbo 1988 wagon, fuel injection computer, fuel pump relay

Question
The car suddenly had a loss of power, gassing it made the turbo needle move rapidly but still no power, all electrical systems were functioning and fuses look ok. Won't start now. Replaced fuel filter (just drove 4,600 miles to Baja and back, bad gas in Mexico?) think it's getting a spark (can't check myself)recent new plugs and leads, I think it could be the coil, fuel pump or fuel injection. Parts store said try jumping the fuel pump relay but I don't know where that is or what it looks like(manual is none too descriptive) Before this happened the idle was slightly erratic, ok then dipped revs then returned to normal again but the car ran fine. Any suggestions what to look for and what to test? Also the heated seats stopped working, again the fuse is good, any suggestions on that as well? Thanks so much.

Answer
Hugo, without some basic tests, it could be so many things. Try to get a helper and make sure you have spark first. (That's my best guess where your problem is) Probably ignition module. If the fuel injection computer does not see the spark signal, it will not fire up the fuel pumps. HTH
Seats, most likely switch or elements in the seats. Also check the connectord under the seats to be sure they have not pulled apart.
