Volvo Repair: volvo coolant leak, volvo 740 gle, coolant leak

Question
We have a 1990 volvo 740 gle with a major coolant leak. The car has had a small leak from the top of the radiator for some time now. The owner has been adding water as needed but has not been adding antifreeze. Well yep it froze. We got it warmed up and went to add coolant, how ever it leaks out as fast as you can poor it in. The leak is directly below the oil filter. I dont know if, or for how long the car was run with frozen coolant. The coolant reservoir was full and frozen before we warmed it up so I am assuming the freeze is the cause of the problem.

Answer
Marty, Coolant doesnt freeze unless it was diluted too much which it obviously did.  check to see if its coming out of that pipe from the water pump.  Below the filter there is only one thing.  The oil pan.  Check to see if there are any obvious freeze plugs that are leaking.  Other than that, I would have to inspect the car.  Roger
