QuestionQUESTION: My well experienced Volvo mechanic can't find a distributor for my 1983 240 Volvo, 4 cyl, (2300). Old rotting wires coming out of the distributor were the problem. Two attempts to get "rebuilt" ones were unsatisfactory due to quality of wires in them. He says one problem may be it was an '83 but built in December of '82. Body is good, interior excellent, and ran good until this. Am I out of luck, or do you think somewhere in the world I might find one? Some have suggested on the Internet or ebay. Any ideas? Thanks so much!!

QUESTION: The mechanic said it says Bosch on both the distributor and the distributor cap, and that it has Bosch Fuel Injectors. He is concerned, though, that some parts may be Chrysler. Experienced Volvo people in Santa Cruz, CA where he buys parts say that this system was only used for 6-8 months. The next system was used 7-8 years. They say that is the problem in finding parts.
AnswerRock, Well if its not a White cap then its a bosch distributor. My dealer can get them. EBay would be a good source as well. I looked at my supplier and it wasnt listed. If you cant find one, Let me know, I may have a good one in nice shape. Roger
