Volvo Repair: volvo s40 1998 service light reset, spec cars, volvo s40

Hi, do i have to take car to a garage to have the service light reset or can i do it myself- if so, how? It is a late 1998 volvo s40 UK model,

Andrew, the US spec cars in 2000 you could do manually.  You can try this and see if it works.  If not, then a special tools is needed.  Turn key to position 1 and hold the odometer reset button in.  Wait till it resets to zero and turn key to pos 2.  Wait for service light to flash and let go of the button.  It should be reset now.  Roger
