Volvo Repair: 1993 Volvo 240 Speedo Fried, 1993 volvo 240, volvo 240

Hi Roger,
After reading your past posts I came to the realization that I have fried my speedometer by plugging the red/white tachometer wire into the speedometer. The car is a super clean 1993 240 with only 116k miles. It kills me to think that I am going to have to replace the speedometer/odometer and bring the "original miles" statement into question. Is it possible to replace the fried speedometer while keeping the original odometer? Thanks for your help.

Gabe, I do that sort of work at my shop.  As long as the miles are the true miles then I dont see a problem with it.  If you want to spend the money you can buy a new unit from Volvo with the exact miles.  Let me know.  I may have a 93 unit somewhere.  Roger
