Volvo Repair: 1985 240 DL Wagon ; looses power., bosch alternator, volvo dealer

Question
Hi Roger:
I've written before and you have answered my questions(same problem is stell happening)
quickly, thanks a lot. Now ,I have replaced the battery (new) I have replace the new world craft alternator with a Bosch alternator as you requested. The problem still exists and after installing the alternator yesterday.I drove it to work 4 miles.I charged the battery overnight. I drove it at lunch for 3 miles.I started it up and headed home it just lost all power (same problem before I replaced the battery and alternator)after about 2 miles.Radio cut off first and then car just cuts off.(Its a good thing that I live out in the country and where I can pull over without causing a traffic problem)After it cuts off it will not start without a jump ( the battery is putting out 11.6 volts while it on the jump cables hooked up to another vehicle)Then the car goes for another mile and it looses all power(lights first)(at night) and then just stops. I had a Volvo dealer replace the wiring harness under the hood. All the wiring is new.I want to keep this car and have put at least $2000.00 in it in 3 yrs.

Answer
Donald, something is still not right.  What is the output charge at the alternator?  Should be 13.5-14 Volts.  There has got to be a draw somewhere.  Just for information, how many belts are on that alternator?  Do you know how to do a draw test?  Roger
