Volvo Repair: blown head gasket question, blown head gasket, torque wrench

Question
Hi,
I have a 1996 Volvo 850 (not turbo) and discovered the head gasket is cracked. Nothing else wrong yet, not driving it of course. Limited money to fix and wondering how difficult it would be to fix myself. I have tools. Thank you!

Answer
Stephanie, Sorry but this needs to be left to the Volvo shops.  The head needs to be taken to the machine shop, Timing belt and all related parts need to be replaced and a torque wrench is a must.  you need a special tool to keep the cams in place.  I dont recommend messing with this one.  Roger
