ANSWER: No, not the panel. You just need to pull the whole panel for access to the handle linkages and reuse the panel after repairs are complete.

QUESTION: thanks. the dealer told me that the cable inside the door panel broke and it only comes as part of the door panel assembly. he said that the cable is molded to the panel. does this sound correct or do you think there trying to hose me ? 2006 volvo s60.
Answer Glen, I've never actually see one break, so I don't know for sure, BUT, Volvo never does anything THAT stupid. I did a quick Google search but did not find the answer.
So I called my old buddy @ Ramac and had him look it up in VIDA. They are full of crap. The handle itself is #306-32-695 List $28.44. The ROD (There are no cables) that hooks the handle to the latch is #308-82-597 and is cheaper than the handle. I didn't get an exact price. Those are the only two pieces there are. The rest is the latch, lock motor and the outer handle stuff.
They've already lied to you so I would tell them to pack it where the sun doesn't shine and find yourself a new shop.
