Volvo Repair: 1998 Volvo S70 Rack and Pinion Replacement, power steering fluid leak, power steering fluid

Question
I've traced a power steering fluid leak to the rack and pinion assembly of my 1998 Volvo S70; Have to add fluid about twice a month to keep the reservoir topped off; Would like to know if replacement of the entire assembly is the surest fix. Also would like to know if this is a possible do-it yourself fix for someone with moderate mechanical skills; finally would like to know of any down-loadable instructions for this type of repair;  Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated.

Answer
Viper, replace whole assembly no matter who does it. Get a "long rack" and reuse only your old outer tie rod ends if they are still good. Instructions you can Google, or purchase access to the entire manual for your car @ www.alldata.com. A good investment if you are a DIY.

Merry Christmas
