Volvo Repair: interor lights, s70 glt, exact procedure

Question
QUESTION: 2000 s70 glt. One day my alarm went off with the doors unlocked and now my interior lights and trunk light don't come on. The door open chime is on all the time even with the door closed. If you try to turn the interior lights on or open up the glove box the light on the dash telling you that the trunk is open will light up. Fuse not blown and already tried disconnecting the battery for 2 hours. What does this sound like the problem could be and can I fix it myself without going to the dealer. Thanks

ANSWER:    Check the trunk latch adjustment and switch adjustment.

QUESTION: How do I do that and where are those located? Also noticed that my master key doesn't work on the trunk anymore. It won't even turn. Also when I hit the lock button on the remote my lights don't flash anymore.

Answer
Tywan, disconnecting the battery probably de-synchronized your key fob. You will have to have it resynched. You can do it yourself, but I cannot remember the exact procedure, too much stuff to remember it all. All-data or Vadis will have the procedure.
You did not answer my question about whether the central locking works with the key?
The fact that your master key does not work anymore confirms my suspicion that the problem is with that rear latch. The door open switch is integral with the latch. Latch adjustment effects the "trigger" point of the switch, telling whether it's open or closed. My suspicion is that you have something jammed in there?
First get the fob resynched and then see what you have.
