Volvo Repair: central electronic module, electronic module, service message

Question
I was driving my 2004 S60 2004 2.5 turbo awd at around 65 miles per hour when the car had some hesitation. The dashboard then went blank and many items wouldn't work in the car(wiper, turn signal, window, etc..) I kept driving and made it home (2 hour drive). I turned the car on the next day and everything worked but I had an air bag service message on the car.  My mechanic did a diagnostic and said I would have to take it to the dealer.  It has taken the dealer two days to research it and they think it might be the central electronic module, but were going to check with someone back east (I am in Seattle). I am concerned that they aren't sure this is the problem and have no idea what they may charge me. Can you give me some insight?  Thank you

Jeff

Answer
Jeff, It is possible that the CEM is the issue and the Volvo computer system would tell them so.  Not sure who they have to check with but the only person they should be checking with the Volvo Tech services Representative.  I would do battery and charging system check.  Good luck.  Roger
