Volvo Repair: s80 volvo sunroof, volvo vadis, volvo specialist

My sunroof will not open. No sound/suspect it is the motor. What kind of charges am I looking at to repair? Does the dealer have to do the repair or can any mechanic fix?

Linda, Any mechanic cant fix this car.  In fact, I dont like working on them but I know them too well.  Anyway, most likely its the alarm siren that is causing the sunroof not to work.  Stupid as it sounds, the alarm siren when bad prevents the sunroof from opening.  The Volvo dealer or Volvo Specialist shop should perform the repairs because the car has to be scanned and then when a new siren is installed, the system has to be reset and only The volvo VADIS computer system can do it.  Should be no more than $300 to repair this.  Roger
