Volvo Repair: 1987 volvo 240 randomly stalls, engine wiring harness, volvo 240

Question
Hi, my 240 with 101,000 miles sometimes stalls. It may be in my neighborhood or on the interstate. It begins to lose power and I will pull over, turn off car, restart and continue driving. Have replaced fuel filter and fuel pump. Mechanics are stumped and I don't want a fishing expedition to figure this out. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Answer
James, on the older 240's, the engine wiring harness is usually the culprit but just like any diagnostic issue, I would have to do a few tests on the car to see whats going on.  May be a number of things.  I recommend a Volvo shop to help you out.  Roger

James, this is one of those cars that old school takes over and diagnostic machines wont help.  Its just Volvo knowledge and tests.  I hope you took my advice.  Roger
