Volvo Repair: Volvo Electric Problem, volvo dealer, battery doors

Question
I have a 1998 S70 T5 Model that has an intermitent electrical problem. Problem, Car starts and runs fine for few days, it even will go to various places in same trip without a starting problem. However, once car sits for sometimes as short as an hour or as long as three hours, it won't start. Jump start it and it's good for another few days. I've taken it to Sears electrical and the local Volvo dealer (while running of course) neither of the above have been able to isolate the problem and in fact blame me for leaving something on in the car. I've explained that even if something were left on, it shouldn't discharge the battery in 1 to 3 hours. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks

Answer
Kelvin, Sears?  They cant even fix Lawn Mowers.  Anyway, Obviously there is a draw somewhere.  There is an issue withe the positive cable that run from the battery to the fuse box but that is for a different system.  If you have a good test light, you can perform the test yourself to see if there is a draw.  Disconnect the positive battery cable.  Connect the test light end to the battery cable but do not put it onto the battery post.  Now take the test lead and touch the positive terminal on the battery.  Doors and trunk should be closed.  If the light lights up and stays lit, then there is a problem.  Most likely its the glove box door or perhaps an issue with the radio. Let me know what you find.  Roger
