Volvo Repair: Volvo 2001 V70 Driver Window Switch Panel, damp weather, window switch

Question
Driver door window intermittently does not open or close when pressing switch.  
First noticed after car was damaged in a collision (upon getting car back).  First
only occurred in damp weather, but not more consistent.  Hoping to avoid
dropping$250 for new part.  Can these be reconditioned?  Are these capable of
being replaced by someone handy, but not an automotive expert?

Jay, it may be in the wiring harness itself but I havent seen any of these switch packs go bad on the 2000-up cars yet.  If you can remove the panel and inspect the wiring, you may be able to locate a bad wire.  Personally I would let a Volvo shop take a look but it doesnt hurt to at least inspect it.  Roger
