Volvo Repair: Vovlo S70 and air pump/ SAS Valve, vacuum line, vovlo

Question
Obviously I am another lucky S70 owner where the pump slowly got louder and louder and then stopped.  I constantly get 0410 and 0455 codes which I shut off.  My question is that I am going to replace my air pump but do
you feel I also must replace the SAS valve. How do you
know if it's still good?  It sounds(by others articles) like it may be the cause of why water got in and rusted it out in the first
place but I don't want to replace good parts either.
Thank you for any info. you can give me,  John

Answer
John, always replace the relay as well when you do the air pump.  To see if the SAS valve is working, you need a vaccum hand pump to see if the valve is opening or closing.  I have also found that the purple vacuum line aometimes get clogged as well and would give a false reading on the SAS valve.  Roger
