Volvo Repair: turn signals will not flash !, turn signal switch, volvo 244

Question
Hello, I have a Volvo 244 from 1987, and my signals will not flash on and off like normal working signals are supposed to. The lights all work, they just will not signal flash at all. The previous owner doesn't know what it is either, he said maybe it was the turn signal switch but I replaced it only to find them still not working. Anyways, I think it could be a "flasher relay" but I have no idea where to look for it exactly in my Volvo, and I don't know if that is it's exact name...but I want to know where to look for it's flasher so I can try replacing that...Any thoughts? Do you think this could be anything else? But can you please tell me where to look for the flasher on my Volvo? Thanks so much Volvo expert!

Answer
Jessica, its located behind the side panel by your right leg.  Should be the black relay.  Will be a 3 prong relay.  if you can hear the thing clicking when the signal switch is turned on, then you can follow the sound.  Other than that, there would need to be some tests performed.  Roger
