Volvo Repair: 98 v90 pnp removal, head bolt, wire ties

ok... i have a bad pnp switch i'm replacing...on my back..... i have the 12mm head bolt unbolted from the pnp. i removed the wire ties. i removed the plug connector... i loosened the 6 exhaust bolts....i removed the center nut and rubber seal and lock ring/washer.... the car is in neutral... the switch moves side to side.... i can not for my life get this switch off the shaft.... any help would go a long way!!! thanx

Scott, you didnt need to go through all that with the exhaust but anyway, spray the shaft with some pb blast and let it soak a bit.  It may come off.  What I have done on those stubborn things is to take a screwdriver and peel the metal back some. If it breaks, who cares? you are replacing it anyway.  Also try to get under the switch with a small prybar.  You may have to bend the trans line a bit to get the thing out.  It will come off eventually.  They are not fun even with a lift. It sucks on your back.  Roger
