Volvo Repair: need brake pad help, hex socket, quality pads

hey roger how do i install front barke pads on my 1997 volvo 850....and i have black spit with a fuel smell comeing out of the tailpipe.  any help well be great.....thank you very much

Jason, Fairly simple to do.  Use quality pads and paste.  With a large screwdriver, get inbetween the pad a rotor and pry it back.  Remove the spring.  Remove the black covers to the bolts on the caliper.  Use a 7mm Hex socket and loosen the bolts.   Pull caliper off rotor.  Use large pliers and finish pushing piston back in.  Install pads.  Reverse your work and you are done.  That black spit is semi normal.  Car is running a little rich.  May be an air mass meter issue.  Roger
