Volvo Repair: 2002 XC70 Shifts Hard, volvo dealer, xc70

Hi, I have a 2002 XC70, approx 125,000 miles.  I bought it used, and verified through dealer that routine maintenance was consistently performed.  I am experiencing hard transmission engagement when switching between reverse and drive.  If I wait 2-3 seconds after shifting, it is less pronounced but still rocks the wagon slightly and and solid clunk can be heard.  What should I expect when I go to my repair shop?

go to Volvo dealer try tcm software update if it don't work drive how it  only way to fix that than is to replace valve body which cost almost as putting complete transmission in it but the software update takes care of most problems try transmission  upgrade software it will cost around $200-300 go to Volvo dealer  for that
