Volvo Repair: 04 S60 to 04 V70 Steering wheel swap, torx screwdriver, older models

Question
QUESTION: Mr. Patricio,

Could you please help me with/explain how to swap my OEM 2004 S60 premium/three-spoke steering wheel with the OEM 2004 v70 four-spoke steering wheel? I am not sure how to remove and reinstall the steering wheels, as well as what tools I will need to do so.

We plan to eventually sell the S60, but just purchased the V70 and plan to keep it. So, we wanted to be sure we had the nicest components in the vehicle we are keeping.
Thank you, in advance, for any assistance you can provide.
Kind regards,
Jeff

ANSWER: Jeff, I just told another guy the same thing Im going to tell you.  Due to the safety concerns of the airbags, Only cerified techs should be removing airbags. I will not be responsible if something were to happen.  Im sorry but Im going to pass on telling you how to do this.  If one of the other experts want to tell you thats up to them.  Im sorry but that is a compromise I will not break.  Roger

QUESTION: So, from your response, I am assuming that what you wrote to someone on 8/23/2007 (see below) about how to remove the steering wheel to fix the ignition on a '98 S70 Volvo is not the same procedure as our S60 and V70? In that you mention the "bag contacts", so I am unclear as to what "compromise I will not break" means, as it appears that doesn't come in to effect on older models.

"Ed, you need a 27 torx screwdriver.  There are 2 access hole on the back of the steering wheel.  Turn the wheel to its side and you will see them.  Remove both and pull the bag towards you gently.  carefully remove the contact of the back of the bag.  There is a screw in the lower left portion of the steering wheel.  Put that screw in the contact reel.  You will see the hole.  Now remove the bolt from the wheel and take the wheel off.  You are good to work now.  Take your time.  Roger"

ANSWER: Jeff, the newer models are actually easier.  Its pretty much the same as the older models but you just insert a driver in the hole and press in and the one side of the bag pushes out.  Do the same on the other side.  I will check the computer tommorrow and see if that is correct.  Roger

QUESTION: Thank you. If you could check on that, as you mentioned, I would truly appreciate it. I am not opposed to having someone else do it, but I just thought I would ask and see about doing it on my own, as I'm pretty handy and tend to do just about everything on my own. Oil changes, cold air intake installations, etc. If you don't recommend doing it, because I'll put my wife and I at risk, then I will try to see who could do it.
Thanks.
Jeff

Answer
Jeff, checked the proper procedure and the new one are like I said.  Put a screwdriver in the hole and push down. The clip will release one side, then do the other side.  I wish you would have explained yourself before giving me a 1 for knowledge.  Thats pretty insulting.  Roger
