Volvo Repair: air compressor in & out, timing components, pressure switch

Question
1999 s70 non turbo.. like the above question, my compressor cuts on and usually stays on until the car slows down from highway to stop. 45lbs of a/c pressure and ice cold.  it may begin any minute or stay off for 5 minutes. sometimes it stays on when idle, then cuts off when start off again for a short time. turning compressor swith on and off SEEMS to help but can't be sure. do you think compressor sensor my be my problem too? i did replace pressure switch.  i have 130,000 miles and recently had manuel timing components changed and new sepintine belt replaced. car like new inside and out.  also have 94 940 turbo that i had to run a positve wire to the pressure switch and this air has worked for 40,000 miles...thanks...volvo for life.

Answer
Larry, what usually happens on these is the clutch gets separated too much from the pulley.  we can get away with reshiming the clutch since its blowing ice cold.  This is the only solution other than replacing the clutch but its cheaper in the long run to replace the compressor.  Roger
