Volvo Repair: Crunching noise on 2007 S60, jerk, brakes

Question
I am at just about 2000 miles and just over 2 months into my 2007 S60 2.4T.  Love the car.  It drives like butter.  It has however been back at the shop at least 3 times for what I describe as a crunching or grinding noise.  It seems to come from what sounds like the center console, behind the radio.  The dealer thought it was the brakes, but that didn't do anything.  It is more prevalent at lower speeds, typically upon coming to a stop or coasting at lower speeds.  It is also more noticeable when it is cool out, but that could be because the AC noise would be lower and doesn't mask it.  The dealer has found nothing.  And it's making a car which is a pleasure to drive -- somewhat frustrating.  Thanks.

Answer
Jason, I have no idea what it may be. It may be one of the recirc motors making noise. What you need to do is to have the dealer contact the Tech Hotline and if they cant figure it out, they will send someone out to look at it.  If the dealer is going to be a jerk, then call the Volvo Hotline thats in your owners manual.  Roger
