Volvo Repair: Car alarm wont stop, volvo xc70, rebecca rebecca

I have a 2002 volvo XC70 wagon with AWD.  This morning, at about 0530, the panic alarm started going off...and it won't quit.  It may pause for up to 30 seconds, but will not stop for any longer.  I have tried starting the car and driving the car...doesn't help.  My husband finally disconnected the horn fuse, so only the lights are flashing now.  We live in the country, so I am sure there was no break in attempt.  Any suggestions?

Rebecca, there is a problem in the alarm module.  Did you try the remote to turn the thing off?  I know its an odd question but I had to ask.  I would go to your Volvo Shop and have them check the car out.  Nothing really else I can help you with on this one without doing tests.  Roger
