Volvo Repair: 1991 Volvo 940 Several Warning Lights stay on, bulb failure, service reminder

Question
Hi Robert,
Last week the A/C light on my 1991 Volvo 940SE began flashing and stayed on for the duration of my trip - approx 30 miles (the A/C still worked).  The next morning it was not flashing and the A/C continued to work.  Today the A/C suddenly stopped working and the check engine light, the Service reminder light, the Low washer fluid level light, the Bulb failure light, the alternator not charging light, the Brake failure light, the Parking brake applied light, and the ABS-system
light all stayed on.  What is going on?  Any input would be greatly appreciated!!  Thanks, Kim

Answer
It sounds like you may have a charging system problem. Pop the hood to make sure the belt is still there, it may have broken.Try to start the car, but don't try to drive it extensively if all the lights are on.Better to have it towed for service check.Might also be more than one problem, but start with the charging system. Probably a failed alternator or voltage regulator.
