Volvo Repair: 2001 Volvo XC70 transmission problem, volvo xc70, strut mounts

I am told I need to replace the trans. Computer relearn didn't solve problem. Cost = $4200. 150k miles on car which is paid for. Trying to decide if I can get 2 more yrs out of it vs. taking on car payments? I put a lot of miles per yr on - over 50k per year.

Look into a used trans from a salvage yard, should be alot less.Hard to say keep it without looking at it.If you have kept up with things as they fail,you should be able to put another 100k on it.But it can be expensive...alternator,radiator,strut mounts,timing belt,starter,...just to name a few of the common things.Have it inspected and prioritize any upcoming needs...suspension,tires,brakes,etc
