Volvo Repair: S60 Volvo, s60 volvo, gearshift

QUESTION: I turned the key off prior to placing the car in park and now the gearshift and the ignition are locked.  Please help.

ANSWER: Im not quite sure what you mean.  You cant turn the key at all now?  Roger

QUESTION: The key will turn to the first position only. In the s60, it requires 3 positions to start the vehicle. It's like the ignition is locked at the second position.

Thomas, all Volvos require starting in 3 positions.  I dont recall an overide button on the S60 but I would try that and perhaps wiggle the key and move the gearshift to neutral if possible.  If nothing else works, then a Volvo Shop or dealer will have to take a look.  Its kind of hard to help you on this one without seeing the vehicle.  Roger
