Volvo Repair: Volvo air conditioning clutch, genuine volvo, high pitch

Question
I have a 2000 V70.  Two YEars ago we had to have the ac clutch replaced.  At that time it was blowing hot air.  Prior to it braking, it was making a high pitch noise when it turned off.  The dealership indicated that was nothing to worry about.  THen exactly one year later, the clutch when bad again.  The dealership as a courtesy, replaced it under the warranty.  Now, exactly one year and about 3 weeks later, it needs to be replaced again.  Now the dealer said I just have to buy a new one.  I suspect there is something else wrong and they are just diagnosing a symptom and not dealing with the real problem.  Any advise? Should they go bad literally three years in a row!

Answer
No they should not be going bad that quickly! But I can't imagine what they could possibly do wrong to screw it up, its pretty much an idiot proof installation. I would question the source of the parts,is it genuine Volvo? or some cheap aftermarket piece of junk? I would also recommend that the cooling fan be checked and the high pressure cut out switch. Maybe the pressures are getting too high and the stress to run it is burning the clutches.Never heard of that one before, but Its just a guess. If it still makes the high pitch noise, have it checked out. You may need a whole new compressor.
