Volvo Repair: Electric seats in 93 940 Sedan, electric seat, xacto knife

Question
Electric seats pull to one side when I move up or back. Is it hard to remove the seat and fix this or is this a Volvo shop item. I am comfortable pulling out the manual seats in my 240s but never have removed the electric ones. Is this typically a cable that isn't working? (The electric seat motors all seem to work...)

Thanks

Answer
John, no need to pull the seat out. The cable is easy acess on these. In the corner of your seat back and set bottom, pull the material so you can see the screw and cable. That silver piece flips up after you loosen the screw.  Pull the cable up. remove the inner cable.  Heat up the silver end of the cable and pull it off.  Using a very sharp xacto knife cut off about a half inch off the black sleeve.  Now heat up the silver end again and place it on the black sleeve until its pushed in all the way.  put the cable back in and make sure its engaged on the motor side.  Use the switch to guide it in and make sure its working.  Roger
