Volvo Repair: Volvo V70, garage mechanic, 1998 volvo v70

Hello, I have a 1998 Volvo V70 with 94k miles on it. It recently started being sluggish when accelerating and when I was driving it Sunday and it would not go over 30mph. I took it to my mechanic on Monday who informed me it just needed a tune-up. Well, that didn't work...it is now Thurs and they still don't know what is wrong with it! Any suggestions on what to check? Thanks so much,

Christina, seems like every Joes garage mechanic thinks changing the spark plugs will perform a miracle.  What he should have done was scan the car, check fuel pressures instead of selling you bogus stuff.  Im thinking a faulty air mass meter or possibly a fuel delivery issue.  Hard to say without checking things.  Roger
