Volvo Repair: 1989volvo 760 turbo, new distributor cap, vacuum hoses

Question
My Volvo stalls at cold start. I have to play with the gas pedal until it warms up and even then, sometimes after putting it in gear, it will stall. Just installed a new distributor, cap and wires, timing belt, checked all vacuum hoses for leaks. I have not tried the fuel filter yet. I do not know it's location
Thanks
Dennis

Answer
Dennis, Clean and adjust the throtle body.  If that doesnt do it, check all the rubber turbo hoses.  Fuel filter will not cause that.  Its an old wives tale that everyone seems to follow.  I have never seen a Volvo  Fuel filter ever get clogged.  They get changed every 30k miles for maintenance purposes.  If all hoses are good and you clean the throtle body and still have issues, then the airmass meter may be giving you a problem.  Do all that first, then I can go into it further with you on how to test the meter.
