Volvo Repair: 2003 Volvo S80T6, agressively, turbo car

Question
Hello Roger,

I just got a used S80 turbo. It has 30000 miles on it. It seems to be in very good shape. I have however just begun to notice that the engine seems to make a bogging noise at around 50mph....This happens when you are trying to keep it around 50 with the gas pedal....It doesn't seem as pronounced when using cruise control.  When you give it some pedal...of course the turbo kicks in and it goes just fine. It's almost like there is bad gas or something. Is this what is known as turbo lag or turbo bog? Is this common?  Is there a remedy for this or can you give me some things to try to narrow down the problem......

Thanks in advance for your insights...

Answer
Toby, the good news is is that the car is technically still under warranty so you can take it to the dealer to have them look at it.  I wish you would have contacted me before buy that beast of a Volvo but such is life.  To me what you are describing is just a normal S80 thing.  There is no remedy.  Just drive the car a little more agressively at times.  Its a twin Turbo car so its needs to be driven like one.  I would call the dealership for a appointment and see what they can find.  Roger
