Volvo Repair: overheating, coolant leak, fan operation

i owned a 1995 850 gt Volvo
the car overheat while i was driving and after i stop and let it cool off . i lost coolant  but i have no leaks on hoses...now the indication stay about 3 o'clock and then suddenly pick out over the red line...any suggestion what maybe..thank you in advance

it looks you have bad thermostat   but i would take it to  volo repair shop to  pressure check cooling  system  and to  check cooling fan  operation using scan tool  .your thermostat is not opening  on time making engine to overheat and than when it overheats you have coolant leak from coolant reservoir .
