Volvo Repair: v40 2 questions, transmission function, downshifting

Question
Hello,
I've got 2 questions maybe you can help me with.  First, other than this the transmission runs very smooth all of the time on the highway when I slow down to about 10-15mph, I can hear the automatic downshifting.  Apon coasting and pressing on the accelerator "very" gradually RPM's will shoot up to about 3000 as if either it is still in 1st or it just popped out of gear, can't really tell. It's hard to duplicate this situation.  Is this mechanical or software?
Second, on idle when cold I can hear an occasional misfire.  Time change plugs? Fuel filter? I've been running a bottle of injector cleaner occasionally. Thank you!

Answer
Victor, that is  a normal transmission function on that model.  I wouldnt worry about it.  Ive seen misfires on those and it turned out to be the wires and coils.  If you were replacing those parts, I would replace the plugs as well.  Change the fuel filter at the 60K service.  Roger
