Volvo Repair: Gas Tank door stuck closed, gas tank, door locks

Sorry. A 1997 850 GTL wagon. It should have a safety wire or something to manually pull & release?

It seems the gas tank door (flap) will not open. The gas tank door locks with the doors, but won't UNLAOCK! Is there a safety (quick) release?

Jim, yes there is.  You need to access it  by removing some of the right rear side panel.  You may also be lucky to have that wire showing and all you have to do is pull it.  I have had some that I had to take apart because the wire wouldnt work.  Roger
