Volvo Repair: front end crunching noises, sway bar bushings, control arm bushings

hello roger,
i just found this site and have asked a few questions...i have 500 more..
on my 3 240s, they all make crunching sounds in the front end.. struts i believe..when i replace the struts, do i replace every thing including the braces at the top? would u suggest replacing all of the bushings underneath the vehicles as well?

Rick, crunching sounds can be a lot of things but on the 240's the main culprits are the rear control arm bushings and sway bar bushings.  The strut plate is a good idea to replace if its an older 240.  As far as haynes being a piece of shit, if it was softer, i would use it as toilet paper.  Factory manuals are the best.  They are always floating around Ebay.  Roger
