Volvo Repair: Volvo V70 2002 rear wiper synchronisation, volvo v70, newer cars

My V70 has developed a problem with it's rear wiper intermittent delay wipe synchronization after it was garaged for an A/C service. It doesn't do the full (there and back) cycle when switched on - only there, then goes thru a varying range of 1/2, 1/4, 1/3 and combinations thereof wipes. Also when I set it on continuous wipe, its fine until I switch it off, then it doesn't return to the correct place, it stops exactly where I click the switch. Is there a reset I can apply or is it a new motor / linkage?

Graham, actually its going to be a module.  You may be able to have the car read and cleared and it may solve you problem but with these newer cars, everything has a module of some sort that controls everything.  And most of the time it will have to have a program download.  you may be lucky on this and not need to  have it.  I would have a Volvo shop or dealer check it out for you.  Roger
