Volvo Repair: head gasket, radiator flush, head gasket

Question
I own a Volvo 740 1989 sedan. I purchased the vehicle after the head gasket has been done. 3 weeks later brownish
oil appeared to be in the radiator top up bowl.
My mechanic assured me this can be normal with residual from the old head. He drained the radiator and changed the coolant. Now 2 weeks after that pinkish oil appears to be in the top up bowl. The engine oil is clear but the transmission oil seems to have the same pinkish appearance on the dip stick. The car is not overheating and changes gears ok. My mechanic is away overseas. Is this normal?
Any help would be assistance before I rush off to the garage.

Answer
Michael, no, this time its not normal.  The radiator is leaking into the trans.  You need to replace the radiator, flush the engine.  You also need to flush the transmission.  You may get lucky and save the trans but dont be surprised if your transmission goes in a few months.  Roger
