Volvo Repair: VOLVO V70 climate control, volvo v70, diagnostic computer

Question
I have VOLVO V70 2003 with climate control. When I set-up control bottom to 22 degrees Celsius it is too hot in summer and too cold in winter. The temperature gets comfortable when the control is turned above maximal temperatures. What could be a problem ? Is it some sensor out of order?

Answer
Most likely the problem is the interior temp sensor.  It is a small thermistor that you can faintly see through the small square vent on the front of the climate module.  If it looks loose or if it is sticks out out then it is definitely broken.  Once the car is hooked up to the diagnostic computer the technician can immediately tell whats going on.  It should still have warranty unless you have driven too far.  Regardless the dealer is the appropriate place to have this one repaired.  If the climate module has to be replaced it has to be programmed and only the dealer is able to do that procedure.
