Volvo Repair: Volvo S80 Drive Shaft, volvo s80, drive shaft

Question
I changed out the front wheel bearing as you described in a previous answer but in removing the Drive Shaft from the bearing, the other end of the shaft came away from the gearbox end and I could not re-insert. In taking of the rubber boot, I find loose inside, six large balls and a retaining collar with six slots for the balls (one slot has a brocken edge) and I can't seem to put these back together so that they drive the shaft. Can you advise how this is done or do I need to purchase a new part?

Answer
you pull the drive shaft a part  you can take the drive shaft to shop were the axle gets rebuild they will install all for   you and new boots also you cant do it your self   you have to look in your area for axle rebuilding place or most trasmision shops can do it  .but if the shaft cant be fixed than you need to get new one  or used from junkyard
