Volvo Repair: 1984 Volvo Fuel Pump Replacement, volvo 240 glt, check fuse

Question
I have just been given a 1984 Volvo 240 GLT (244)  I am having trouble getting the car started.  The engine will turn over but won't start.  All the wires and fuses are good (checked with multi-meter).  However cannot here fuel pump kicking in and am sure that that is the problem.  Internet info says there are two fuel pumps internal and external can't figure out where the external pump is can you help me there.  This car was running and driven in January of this year but was parked in a garage since then.  Very frustrated please help.

Answer
Carol, before you try to replace fuel pumps, check fuse number 7 and 13.  Just because they look good doesnt mean that thay are.  Pull them out a visually check the ends.  also, your relay may be bad.  Its a green one in the upper corner area under the steerin wheel.  You will be able to jump a wire to get the pump running.  Roger
