Volvo Repair: fuel system, inj system, bosch pump

Question
i have a 1991 740 (non turbo) that is hard to start hot or cold and stalls when idling at a light and idles rough when running.
everything points to the fuel pump and i am planning on changing the relay also.
i can't seam to get my hands on a manual locally so my question is, how do i know which pump i need, are there two, do i have a regina ign/inj system? is it in tank or exterior?
i know that i want a bosch pump but not sure which one. any help with identifying which pump(s) and any other equipment you recommend replacing with the pump would be gratefully appreciated.
my vin # in case it matters is YV1FA8842M2506611
thanks for your help!

Answer
Ken, If you have an air mass meter then its a bosch system.  You may have a fuel pump check valve problem.  Have you cleaned and adjusted the throtle body?  Dont condemn the pump until you have performed a few tests.  Did you check the fuel pressure?  If you have a bosch system, then you have 2 pumps.  One under the car and one in the tank.  If you have a regina/rex system, then you have one pump in the tank and you will need to pull the whole tank unit and solder in a new pump.  Roger
