Volvo Repair: Volvo S80 DTSC message, s80 t6, volvo s80

Hi,

I saw somewhere on the board where someone asked the same question I am about to ask but wasn't clear in the description of the problem.

I have a 2000 S80 T6 that periodically gives me the message "DTSC service required" on the left message screen.  It only gives me the message every few days.  The car only has 40,000 miles and has been taken care of very well.  I do have an extended warranty but am not sure if this is an item that would be covered or not.

Any insight?

The DSTC system is shutdown if there is any failure of the ABS system.  On that car it will be one of 2 items, a bad wheel speed sensor or a bad ABS module.  It is most likely the module however.  It is most likely an item covered by your extended warranty but call them to verify what is and is not covered by the warrant before bringing your car in for service or they may decline the claim.  All extended warranties are different.  If it is a volvo increased protection, or certified pre-owned warranty I can tell you now that it will be covered.
