Volvo Repair: Knocking and raddling in front end, strut assembly, ball joints

Question
I have a lot of front end raddling and  the car shakes and rolls really rough when I accelerate. This is the answer you gave to someone with similar problems:
1. The upper strut seat is cracked
2. The upper strut bearing has play in it
3. The sway/antiroll bar link has gone bad (one of its ball joints
4. The control arm bushings have cracked or have play
5. The brakes have play in them somewhere (aftermarket)
6. The ball joint has play in it
7. The ball joint nut is loose: there has been a revision to the design of the nut.  Make sure you have the latest design.  There was a recall for it.

Could you give an estimate of how much cost is involved with repair of problems 1 thru 4?

Thanks alot.

Tony

Answer
Number 1 and 2 have the same labor since they are both part of the same strut assembly, they are removed at the same time.  It is 2 hours of labor (105 an hour at our dealer) and ~40.00 for the seat and ~130.00 for the bearing.  That is per side.  There are 2 strut assemblies like that.
Number 3 is 1 hour of labor and ~70 per link (also 2 of those).
Number 4 The control arms can be replaced for 2 hours a pair and ~230.00 per control arm; or the control arms can be removed and bushings only replaced for 4 hours and ~60.00 worth of bushings.

If you do more than one, there is some overlap on parts removal if you do 1,2, or 4 together.  So the dealer may discount the labor time since they are related systems.
