Volvo Repair: car wont run, transmission control module, cars network

Question
I recently had victor larocha fix my ABS.  He returned it and I put it back in the car.  Now the car starts but won't run.  In other words it will start but within a few seconds it shuts down.  I took the ABS unit out and it still won't run.  I drove it while the ABS unit was being repaired and it ran just fine.  The only light on is the check engine light.  The ABS light went out the first time I started the car.

Answer
Check very carefully at anything you may have taken out while trying to gain access to the ABS unit.  Most likely you have a hose or connector disconnected.  If you do not and can't find anything wrong with it, I would take the car into a shop where they can read the computer and get the cause of the check engine light.  Most likely that would show you the cause.  The ABS module itself will not cause a no start most of the time.  If this is a 99 or up car the ABS is linked on the cars network and if the network software/hardware was damaged during victors repair then it could be causing whole network failure (engine control module, transmission control module, and central electronics module).  If that is the case, you will most likely need a new ABS module.
