Volvo Repair: Car, oil sludge, bulb failure

Question
I have a Volvo S-80, I recntly went to the dealer for a little smoke out the tail pipe. They told me at first that it wouldnt be warranty because I had dirty oil. Ihad all my services done and the proof so they did it under warranty. I dont trust the guy I dealt with because he is a liar and tried to rip mee off, he also charged me for a oil flush and i belive it has messed my car up. When i got to my street the oil light and message came on, also the turn signal on the right said bulb failure. Should I have my car looked at by another dealer or take it back. Is it safe to drive it says on message:coolant low stop asap, no oil pressure stop engine, and bulb failure. Also is there a website to find the closest dealership to my home. I went to the one in Davie Florida but live i Miami. Thank you for your help.

Answer
You're going to be amazed but I INSTALLED THE TURBOS!!  What a small world.  You were sealing with Felix at weston volvo correct?  I don't really like felix so I don't blame you for feeling that way.  Here is exactly how we deal with cars like yours and exactly what I told him to tell you.  The turbos on your car are very sensitive to oil quality, and honestly 7500 miles between oil changes is puching it.  I know thats the volvo service intervals but it is absolutely the limit of the oil life.  I always do at least one oil change between services myself.  The mileage records from our repair order history showed at one point you had 12000 miles between 2 services.  That is nearly double the length it should have been.  Joe Mariner, the manager I approached, was the one who agreed to give you the turbos under warranty.  When internal oil sludge has formed often nothing is covered under warranty because regardless of whether all service were done, it wasn't done often enough.  So all fault of failure is usually on the customer.  So first consider yourself lucky they were warrantied.  The manager did tell the writer to require an oil flush because that service would be required to remove all the bad oil as possible so the new turbo chargers would not become instantly destroyed by the bad oil that was in there.  I know I did not want to do that job twice because it is VERY VERY labor intensive.  It almost always takes 1-2 full days after getting parts to finish.  Anyways, anytime an oil flush is recommended I tell the write to tell the customer exactly this "An oil flush breaks up deposits in your engine to try to flush them out.  If it breaks apart into big chunks there is the possibility that rather than flowing out through the flush machine they could get lodged in oil passages in the motor causing oil pressure problems, and possible engine damage at that point".  I'm sorry if he did not give you that warning.  The coolant low light came on because of air pockets escaping.  I drive the car 7-12 miles after replacing coolant to get all the bubbles out but sometimes it doesn't always get them all.  After topping off the coolant it should be fine.  Call the dealer ask to talk to Joe Mariner.  Tell him about the oil light coming on, try to work something out with him.  He is a very nice and gerous person, but he is unwilling to help customers that want to fight with him.  As long as you talk in a calm matter without getting all pissed off at him you will get the best possible deal from him.  The bulb failure message was an accident.  After I left the first night while your car was still in my bay the technician next to me had a car with a burnt out bulb and we had none of that style in stock.  He took the one from your car and ordered a replacement for your car because it was going to be in longer than the other car.  Unfortunantly he did not tell me this the next day and I finished you car early so it left the shop missing a bulb.  A replacement has been ordered but has not shown up yet.  I'm very sorry about that.  I hope none of my colleagues mistakes or possible misrepresentations has made you think any less of me as your technician.  I assure you I have done everything I can to ensure proper repair of your vehicle.  Please email me with any other questions you may have.

I have responded to this email with the full and honest truth because I believe you deserve to know what is going on with you vehicle.  Felix is fairly new at our dealership and I feel like he may have treated you poorly.  I ask however that you do not let my managers know that you have received this email from me becasue they may feel that I should not have gone around them to tell you all of this.  I know my manager would have been honest with you but circumventing him when customers have complaints could get me in some trouble.  I could even get fired based on how they interpret this.  So please, use this information to help you but leave my name out of it.  Thank you.
