Volvo Repair: volvo repair cost, bumper to bumper warranty, volvo repair

Question
Is owning a volvo like a bmw when it come to repair cost? If i bought a used 20 s60 should i bye a warranty with it?

Answer
It would be best to do that.  But before you do, get a very specific list of what is covered and what is not.  Alot of times we try to get repairs authorized and it will be declined because the warranty is not very good.  It should be very reliable for you but a lot of little thing can add up.  Things you're most likely to see:

Bushings for suspension wearing out
Ft brakes every 25k miles
Rr brakes every 50k miles
Top engine mount breaks alot

Other than that, the only things I see break are most often broken by the customer.  Any major repairs usually average 500-1000 dollars.  If the warranty is only 2-3k it would be a good investment.  So as long as you aren't real hard on your vehicles the rest shouldn't be an issue.  Make sure the car is good before you buy it though, If there are issues with it before you buy it will most likely have issues for a long period of time after the purchase.

P.S. You may consider buying a certified preowned volvo from a dealer because the warranty comes with the vehicle.  8 years, 100,000 miles (from orignal in service date, not when you bought it)  No deductible and everything is covered just like the original bumper to bumper warranty.
