Volvo Repair: 850 A/C charging, wind shield, washer fluid

Question
I have an '96 850 2.3L turbo. To charge the A/C, the only valve I can find is located near the wind shield washer fluid reservior. The pipe goes directly through the fire wall like it is going to the evaporator. The pipe next to it or from the reservior has a green mark on it like it might be the low presure side. My assumption is that the other pipe may be the high presure side. My question is if this only valve that I can find is the proper one to be adding refrigerant. In the past I have had trouble getting the system to take the entire can of refrigerant, possible another clue to it being high presure.

Thanks Mike

Answer
Michael, Yes, thats the port.  Its the lowside port and thats the only one you should ever use.  There is no high side port on those and you never charge on that side anyway.  Charge the system with the A/C running.  I would add a little refrigerant oil too.  Roger
